Questions

Questions, answered plainly

What does it cost?

It depends on tank size, the distance to the plants and how much gutter is new. The home page lists what moves the number. You get one total in writing before any work starts.

How soon can you start, and how long does it take?

The written estimate gives a start window. Most tank installs take a day or two on site once the pad and parts are ready, and permits set the pace when one is needed.

Are you licensed and insured?

The license line and the insurance line are at the bottom of every page, and the About page says where to check them. A certificate of insurance is sent on request.

What happens at the visit?

About an hour. We measure the roof footprint from the ground, walk the downspouts, look at where water would end up and ask what you want to water. The written estimate follows.

How do I pay?

A deposit for materials, a payment when the tank is set and the rest when the system runs. We take checks and cards. California limits the down payment on a home improvement contract, and yours states it.

What if it rains, or freezes?

We don't dig in a downpour, and a rain day moves the schedule. A tank doesn't mind. Frost is rare near the coast; inland we wrap exposed pipe.

What should I do before you arrive?

Clear a path to the downspouts and the side yard, tell us where the washer is, and put pets inside. If you have the roof's plans or an old estimate, set them out.

What areas do you serve?

Seventeen towns from Coronado to Escondido. The Where we work page has the list, the ZIP codes and where we don't go.

Do I need a permit?

Sometimes. A simple washer-to-landscape system can go in without one when it meets the state's conditions; large, buried or house-plumbed tanks and other greywater systems usually need one. Your building department has the last word.

Will it lower my water bill?

We don't promise a figure. A tank catches rain, and rain changes from year to year. Water rates change too. Ask your water district whether any rebate is open.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Jose Rivas and Dulce Godinez do, and every page here has a Spanish version under the language switch in the menu.
